This Saturday night Avalon Raceway powers back into life as the K-Rock Cup for the Super Sedans heads what on paper looks to be a great night of action as the Demolition Derby is also set to be unleashed. The popular Speedcars are also preparing to do battle while the AMCA Nationals and Street Stocks will provide ample support.

In what is shaping as a night of reruns, both the K Rock Cup and the Demolition Derby were set for decision earlier in January but they both fell victim to the rain and were rescheduled to this weekend. The Lucas Oils Southern Speedcar Tour was already set to compete this Saturday night and with the addition of the Super Sedans and the Demolition Derby it promises to be a great night of entertainment.

Avalon Raceway commentator Brian Alexander predicts plenty of entertainment for the entire family this Saturday night.

“It was unfortunate that we lost a couple of events in January to rain but the good thing is we have found a suitable date to rerun the K Rock Cup and the demo derby.”

“The Speedcars always put on a great show and now Brett Simpson has a chance to defend his K Rock Cup title that he won last year. A strong field have entered and it’s a wide open event as anyone of a number of contenders could win it.”

South Australian ace Dave Gartner will travel across the border to tackle Victoria’s best Super Sedan drivers as he looks to win the coveted K Rock Cup.

As the season passed the halfway point, fans are encouraged to get a dose of action before the season officially ends on Easter’s Good Friday.

“The season is definitely in the second half now but there are still some great events left in February, March and April.”

Gates open this Saturday night at 4pm while racing will start from 6pm at Avalon Raceway.
