Avalon Raceway was host for round one of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series on Saturday night and what a night it was.
35 Sprintcars and 16 Super Sedans put on a show to remember.
With a fast track that allowed a top side pass to work, we saw solid racing through the heats for both categories. Domain Ramsey comes from the C-Main to make the feature race, a race filled with drama and plenty of bent parts. But with a yellow called and only 4 laps to go its V35 Jamie Veal from V40 Rusty Hickman and V68 Brett Milburne for 3rd, this is how they finish.
The Super Sedans give us one of the closest finishes ever seen at Avalon Raceway. With 4 laps to go Ash Bergmier passes Dave Gartner, only to victory stolen back from him by the width of a piece of race tape. Gartner claims the podium and the champagne flows on the dais,Anthony Randel joins them coming in third.
