This Saturday night, April 9th Avalon Raceway will host the annual AMCA National 50 Lapper while the earth will move when the V8 Dirt Modifieds take to the venue as Street Stocks will also be set for their final appearance of the current season.

Australian champion Mark Lincoln headlines the field while Victorian champ Mick Jackson will also be keen for a strong result. Campbell Hughes has enjoyed another strong season and will be among the contenders. Avalon Raceway commentator Brian Alexander is looking forward to the longest race of the year at Avalon Raceway.

“It’s not all about the first lap or even the first 30 laps,” said Alexander.

“The work is certainly done early but you have to be there in the end to be a chance. As everyone knows the AMCA’s are so close in their performance it will come down to the driver who manages their strategy the best.”

The V8 Dirt Modifieds return to the venue after their recent hitout on a weather affected March long weekend. All season long the Dirt Modifieds have suffered with a number of washouts limiting their chances to race at the venue. Likewise the Street Stocks have an opportunity to race before the current season winds up later in the month.

Public gates will open from 4:30pm on Saturday afternoon while racing is set to begin at 7pm.
