WINGLESS Sprints and GP Midgets will be the headline acts at an action-packed night at Avalon Raceway this Saturday.
Around 40 wingless sprints are expected to contest the first of eight rounds of the sought-after Parr Motorsport Victorian Series and they will be all chasing defending champion James Wren for overall line honours.
Wren of Ballarat will be hard pressed by his brother Sam, Andy Hibbert, Luke Cole, Luke McCutcheon, Rhys Baxter, Peter Green, Daniel Evans, Brett Neylan, Marlin Walsh and Jody Baldwin to name a few. The wingless sprints drivers will also be chasing the year’s aggregate track championship sponsored by Salt Electrical.
Adrian Parr of Parr Motorsports is again excited to be a part of the 2013-14 series which last season attracted more than 60 drivers.
“It has been awesome to have been a part of Wingless Sprints since it started and to see it grow as it has done and continues to,” Parr said.
Ash Booker will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in the Jason Glyn Memorial after winning last year’s prestigious event and broke a 20 year-old, 15-lap track record.. This race also doubles as round two of the Masters Series, which saw Booker win the opening round at Wangaratta last month.
Booker’s opposition is likely to be from Dennis and Geoff Myers, Lisa Chalcraft, Mark Shiells and current Australian GP Midget champion Scott Saville.
AMCA’s will also be on the card as will the Street Stocks who will be battling it out for more vital points to decide their track championship sponsored by Garden City Auto Wreckers while the Modified Production drivers will be supported by Max Fry Smash Repair for the year.
Public gates open at 4pm and racing from 6pm.
Admission: Adults $20, Children 12-16 $10, U12 Free.
