THE annual and prestigious K-Rock Cup will kick start the 2014 year at Avalon Raceway this Saturday night.
This traditional event for Super Sedans has attracted 23 top-line cars and is one of the best races on the Victorian speedway sedans calendar and this year should be no exception.
Many drivers are again in contention for line honours including Mick Nicola JNR who scored a great win last weekend at Rosedale and will be keen to keep his winning form on a roll and win his first K-Rock Cup.
Lucas Roberts will also be there in his V0 Insane instead of being on National Super Sedan Series duty while Dave Mackenzie, Neil Witnish and Anthony Randall will also be eager for victory for the Insane Team.
Brad Wicks will drive the Terry White Devil and knows what it takes to win this race as he has already on no less than three occasions. Scott Whittle is in the Ron Bergmeier Rocket for the night alongside him will be Ash Bergmeier, who comes into this meeting as the form driver in Victoria, finishing on the podium in all three sedan series rounds so far.
South Australian Paul Blenkiron returns for his second attempt to win this event while fellow South Aussie Luke Dodding has already grabbed a third in the Series at Moama this year. Others in contention could be Barry Perrett, his grandson Kaleb Perrett and Anthony East. Trent Wilson makes the long haul from Townsville set to drive his Dodge Charger while the Victorian contingent will feature Lionel West, Ian page, John Karnilowicz, Chris Balaburova and Ben Faulkhead.
The chase for overall victory in the 2013/14 NASR Victorian Championship will also be on the line as points will also be added from this meeting.
Racing is from 7pm with the Super Rods also running and a $5,000 to win Demo Derby rounds out the busy evening.
