Evergreen Victorian sprintcar whiz Johnny Vogels wants to get the 2014-2015 racing season off to lucrative start with a $10.000 win in the annual Jackpot at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway on Saturday night, 8 November.
He is the first person to agree that a driver has to get his head around the format and race accordingly.
“Landing a front row start in the 12 car, 10 lap final would be nice on a two groove racing surface,” John predicts.
“The Jackpot is so unique in concept it tends to draw you into the mystique surrounding the race, but I’m ready to go,” he added.
Sponsored by Combined Waste, the Sprintcar Jackpot is the first major 10K classic on the Victorian calendar.
The entry list includes short track standouts Steven Lines, Jamie Veal, David Murcott, Robbie Farr and Shaun Dobson.
Darren Mollenoyux and Brett Milburn are also among the experienced Avalon 410 cubic inch jockeys in the line up.
The Jackpot offers no second chances for those drivers who don’t brig their A game on the night.
Saturday night, November 8, heralds the return of savage sprintcar racing to Avalon Raceway with the action commencing at 7.00 p.m.
