Tasmanian Shaun Dobson was a model of consistency at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway last season and he’s planning a repeat this summer.
The young man from Moonah had a stellar year winning both the SRA championship and the Essendon Ford Sweepstakes at Avalon that included a flashy new Ford Fiesta.
The initial Avalon visit clicked with Shaun who found his racing mojo within minutes of his first hot lapping session around the snappy quarter miler.
Shaun has confirmed he will freight his impressive rig across from Tasmania next week and will start his campaign at Avalon the following Saturday night.
Sponsored by David Dickson’s Essendon Ford outlet, Dobson plans to open his account in the rich $10.000 to win Sprintcar Jackpot at the Geelong power plant.
Winning appears easier said than done as the Jackpot line up includes US big event specialist James McFadden, World Series king Steven Lines, Victorian grand slam clincher Jamie Veal, WA based Robbie Farr, Luke Dillon (SA) and local aces Johnny Vogels and Darren Mollenoyux.
Eight ‘wild cards’ will be added to the field of qualififers this weekend.
