Jamie Veal and James McFadden have next weekend’s Sprintcar Jackpot at Avalon Raceway clearly in mind and for different reasons.
Veal sealed his fourth main event success of the season on Saturday night at Eucha’s Moama Speedway when he vaulted to the front off pole position to lead Glen Sutherland and NSW visitor Max Johnston
to the chequered flag.
The win was his fourth consecutive success after snaring three in a row at Valvoline Raceway in Sydney.
McFadden would like to correct a racer’s lament he experienced in Adelaide on Saturday when he had the Masters classic locked up, only to run out of fuel on the final circuit.
He spluttered over the line in second only to be taunted by every wisecracking spectator chanting ‘there’s no fool like no fuel’.
Veal and McFadden line up for Saturday night’s 10K to win Jackpot at Avalon against their toughest opposition of the season.
Australian champ David Murcott, WA star Robbie Farr and WSS series winner Steven Lines head the entry list.
