For some reason Kerry Madsen picked up the tag of ‘mad man’ early in his racing career.
Mad tends to suggest the man is unstable and one to watch.
Forget the unstable, but this World of Outlaws is definitely one to watch when he breezes into Avalon for next month’s President’s Cup.
Kerry is from St Marys in Sydney’s west and is the son of sedan racer Joe and brother of accomplished sprintcar icon Ian.
His American Custom Wheel sponsored sprinter is from the Keneric stable that is bankrolled by WA mining money.
Kerry, the talented Brad Sweet, Jac Haudenschild, Kyle Hirst and at least another six Americans are likely to be in the field for the President’s Cup.
Wingless sprints, V8 dirt modifieds and a big support program will be featured at the next card at Avalon Raceway on Saturday night, December 13th.
That will precede the annual Sprintcar Gold Cup on Boxing night so Geelong’s place for pace has plenty of power packed shows to come.
