World of Outlaws ace Daryn Pittman has made a flying visit to join America and Australia’s best sprintcar racers in the Essendon Ford President’s Cup at Avalon Raceway on Wednesday night.
Pittman’s schedule doesn’t allow any spare time outside his profession although he admits he got to enjoy a day on the beach at Manly (Sydney) last year.
Outside of Donny Schatz, Daryn (pictured) enjoyed a sensationally successful season last year on the WoO trail, winning 14 main events, including the World Final at Charlotte, North Carolina.
He is contracted to NASCAR racer Kasey Kahne and competes in his Great Clips #9 primary car.
Daryn will catch up with US racing rivals Christopher Bell, Randy Hannagan, Terry McCarl, Tim Kaeding, Kyle Hirst, Danny Holtgraver and a couple of late entrants on the track in the President’s Cup.
Walking straight into battle after a long flight might tax most individuals, but not this ever-smiling guy from Oklahoma.
“Occupational hazard,” he grins.
Pittman is in Victoria this weekend after which he’s headed home to prepare for another exhaustive 90 race schedule with the World of Outlaws, commencing in Florida.
The $10.000 to win President’s Cup will pit the Americans against Australia’s best drivers David Murcott, Jamie Veal, Steven Lines, Brooke Tatnell, James McFadden, Robbie Farr, Daniel Pestka and Speedweek victor Luke Dillon.
Racing on Wednesday, January 21, will commence at 7.00 p.m. sharp while spectator gates open at 3.00 p.m. and the eagerly awaited pit walk is from 3.oopm till 4.00 p.m.
Be there!
