Jamie Veal (pictured) and Daniel Pestka probably never imagined it would happen this way, but Good Friday’s Sprintcar Trail classic at Avalon Raceway will be a virtual 30 lap match race between the two for a payout of $20.000.

Unfortunately they won’t have the track to themselves either as 16 other star sprintcar pupils will share the clay with them.

Geelong Harley Davidson and Camden Signs and Building are the presenting sponsors of this warp speed clash, but they also are not alone.

David Dickson’s Essendon Ford dealership has been a solid supporter of the $20.000 Sweepstakes and it will be Veal or Pestka on the Good Friday menu at Avalon.

Pestka presently enjoys a lead in the premiership, but if Daniel suffers another bout of motor woes and Veal finishes at the head of the pack, a different outcome is on the cards.

Avalon spokesman Jeff Drew said today entries had already topped 50 for the three night shows at Avalon, Mount Gambier and Warrnambool.

The Good Friday night spectacular will also feature the Easter Demolition Derby and K-Rock Fireworks Spectacular.

Racing will commence at 6 o’clock.
