Avalon Raceway kicks of its 2015/2016 speedway season this Saturday night with a double headed feature night, firstly the fireball derby for Sprintcars which double as Round 1 of the Essendon Ford Track championship.  Which has attracted a strong 45 car line up with a good mix of seasonal veterans and impressive young drivers, leading the charge will be track champion Daniel Pestka in the V88 machine who will be under siege from veterans John Vogels, Peter Milnes, Shaun Dobson and Ian Loudon. While the young charges will be out to stamp there authority these include Luke walker, Jye Okeeffe, Corey McCullagh  and Dion Bellman who acquitted himself very well in the recently held Australian 360 title in Darwin and then making his first ever Avalon Start will be 16 year old Jordyn Charge who had raced ¼ midgets from age 10 and is now stepping up to the main game.

Speedcars will also highlight this Saturday night where some close exciting racing is expected, track champion Troy Jordan will take on Paul Farrell, Geelong’s Domain Ramsey who will be doing double duty in Sprintcars and Speedcars. Young guns to watch here will be former Australian Forumla 500 Champion Jessica Moulden making her debut in the speedcars also making his debut will be former Australian Compact champion Geelong’s Justin McMinn making this a top night of open wheel racing.

Addmission is $25 for Adult children 12-16 $10 and under 12 will be free, gates open at 3:30 and racing from 7:00 o’clock a pit walk will be 3:30 till 4:30pm
