It’s nearly speedway time again as works on the safety fence near completion Avalon Raceway is aiming that October 28th as opening night of the season.
The cancellation of our first two meetings was very disappointing said Avalon’s Rod Drew but the construction of the new catch fence has taken a lot of work but very necessary.
Saturday October 28th will be a Halloween themed night with some prizes for the kids with best dressed outfit, and a number of the team will also get into the spirit with some spooky themes, on the night will be V8 Dirt Modifieds, Street Stocks and Wingless sprints.
The season continues on November 11th for the Routley’s Sprintcar Fireball Derby along with Super Sedans. December 9th is next on the list with Speedcars, Street stocks and Super rods then things begin to get busy with the Sprintcar gold cup and Christmas cup for Modified Sedans on Boxing Night. Followed by December 30th for round 4 of Sprintcar Speedweek, January 3 will see F500 Junior F500 and GP Midgets. January 6th will be the Annual K Rock Cup for Super Sedans, Super Rods and the Crash and Bash Cars.
Then Friday night January 12th will see the Avalon longest running event the West Coast Classic for Modified Sedans along with a new sprintcar event the Victoria Sprintcar Open. % days later January 17th will be the President’s Cup for Sprintcars with all the international drivers on the scene plus Street Stocks. February 3 will be V8 Dirt Modifieds, Speedcars and Junior Sedans. February 17th is a big night of F500’s, AMCA Nationals and Wingless. Sprintcars return on March 2nd for the Great Sothern Showdown with V8 Dirt Modifieds, then Good Friday for night one of the Sprintcar Easter Trail along with Super Rods and Fireworks.
Next up is the Australian Pro Sprintcar Championship over 2 nights April 12th &13th. The final event for the season will be on April 20th for the Pro Sprintcar and Speedccar in the annual Anzac memorial Diggers Cup.
Its the season full of action and entertainment for the whole family.
