In what has become a disappointing trend of recent years, Avalon Raceway has been forced to cancel their first meeting of the season planned for October 5th.
A number of factors lead to this decision stated Avalon’s Jeff Drew went on to say Rod and I are extremely disappointed for all the teams and of course the fans, but the track work has had a couple of delays and after a dry winter the dam , where water for the track comes from was extremely low so the decision was made to clean out the silt and to date lack of winter and spring rain had left Avalon sourcing an alternative water supply with high hopes for the season to open October 26th with the Combined Waste Sprintcar Jackpot.
