HISTORY REPEATS FOR PESTKA

South Australia’s Daniel Pestka went back-to-back with consecutive Good Friday victories at Avalon Raceway, taking out Night One of the 2025 Sprintcar Easter Trail, proudly presented by Camden Signage & Building Services.

It was a perfect start to the Easter Trail, with a huge crowd packing the hill and the night wrapping up at a family-friendly 9pm, topped off with a spectacular fireworks display from Tim Perrett and his team from ProFire Pyrotechnics.

Pestka started from pole and never looked back. With just one stoppage in the 30-lap feature, it was 29 laps straight of intense racing through heavy lapped traffic, with Pestka holding his ground to claim a well-earned victory for the Stark family owned team.

Warrnambool’s Jamie Veal mounted a late charge at Pestka but ultimately settled for second place. Ian Madsen showing his growing love for The Place For Pace continued his strong Avalon form, securing third with a bold move on Luke Dillon, who finished fourth. Tasmania’s Chad Gardiner impressed with strong pace, rounding out the top five.

In the Super Rods, it was a drama-filled 20-lap showdown. Current Victorian Champion Shaun Walsh took the win, while Jamie May continued his strong form. Allan Pitcher finished ahead of his sons, Jacob and Bailey, who came home fourth and fifth respectively.

Veal also wrapped up the Doolan’s Heavy Haulage Track Championship, presented by Transall Motors and Camden Signage & Building Services, after a dominant season. Official standings will be published shortly.

Both Sprintcar and Super Rod teams now shift their focus to Night Two of the Easter Trail at Borderline Speedway, Mount Gambier, before gearing up for a huge Easter Sunday finale at Premier Speedway.
