Avalon Raceway Announces Another Huge Schedule for 2025-26 Season!
The 2024-25 Speedway season at Avalon Raceway may have only just been completed, however preparations for the 2025-26 season are well and truly underway, with the Management Team recently settling on a new race calendar.
As is tradition, the season will commence with the Annual Swap Meet which will be held on Sunday August 24, 2025.
Racing will then kick off on Saturday October 11, when Wingless Sprints, Speedcars and Street Stocks will all invade the Lara based venue.
Highlights of the program will include a 50-lap Feature Event for the Wingless Sprints and the Opening Round of the Southern Speedcar Tour.
The Sprintcars will make the Avalon Raceway season debut on Saturday October 25 with the Jackpot Invitational! This event attracts some of the categories’ biggest names and is one not to be missed!
Joined the Sprintcars on the program will be a Wingless Sprints Invitational.
Just a fortnight later, on Saturday November 8, 2025, the Big Shows keep on coming with Time Honored Sprintcar Fireball Derby, which is run in Memory of the late Bill Evans, scheduled along with the popular action of the Super Sedans, who will be keen to showcase their skills and dial in to Avalon Raceway ahead of their Victorian Title later in the season.
Speedcars will then return for Round 2 of the Southern Speedcar Tour on Saturday November 29 along with Super Rods for the first time in the new season and Street Stocks.
A Christmas Extravaganza Meeting is slated for Saturday December 20, 2025, with the 360/LS Sprintcars providing the Christmas Cheer along with a packed program that includes V8 Dirt Modifieds and the Bruce Riddford Memorial for Street Stocks.
The Traditional Boxing Day Sprintcar Gold Cup is a feature event on the Calendar each-and-every season and this year will be no different!
The Modified Sedans Christmas Cup will also feature as part of what is the start of a remarkably busy portion of the season!
The Formula 500 Speedweek Invasion will be next up with both the Senior and Junior portions of this well attended and hotly contested series rolling in to Avalon Raceway! Compact Speedcars were a hit in 2024 on this program so they too will return on Sunday December 28!
Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek provided all the colour and excitement that we come to expect at Avalon Raceway on December 30, and this year will be no exception!
With the five host venues recently convening and subsequently agreeing to $10,000 to win on each of the five nights of competition, the Tuesday night edition at Avalon Raceway will be a hot ticket item! That can be guaranteed!
Joining Sprintcars on the program will be the ever-popular Street Stocks!
The Sedan fans will then be out in force with the hefty rumble of the Super Sedans once again back in the house for the K-Rock Cup along with Super Rods and…. Wait for it…. The return of…. the Demo Derby!!! This will all take place on Saturday January 3 of 2026, the first of Avalon’s race meetings of the New Year!
The following Saturday night, the lights will once again shine bright on Avalon Raceway as we play host to The West Coast Classic for Production Sedans, which doubles as round the VMPA Series, while a big field of cars is also expected to contest a round of the Wingless Sprint Series! All of this action is locked in for Saturday January 10.
Then it’s President’s Cup time! That’s right the Traditional opener to “Classic Week” will see the best of the best vying to claim the President’s Cup as won by Queensland’s Ryan Newton last January!
With Street Stocks in support, make sure you keep Wednesday January 21 free for what is arguably the biggest night of Sprintcar Racing on the Avalon Raceway calendar.
Following the President’s Cup, a short hiatus will ensue before Saturday February 7, features a raft of entertaining racing with Late Models, V8 Dirt Modifieds and Junior Sedans all on the program!
Then it’s time for the Super Sedan Victorian Title on Saturday February 28, on a program that will also feature GP Midgets and Crash and Bash who will bring their own unique flair to Avalon Raceway!
Not one but two Sprintcar Features are to be decided on Saturday March 21, when the Great Southern Showdown for 410 Sprintcars as well as a Feature for the 360/LS Sprintcars are both contested in what promises to be a dream night for Sprintcar fans!
Good Friday means the Things with Wings are back, with Night One of the Easter Sprintcar set down for decision on Friday March 3 along with Super Rods and the ever-popular Easter Trail Fireworks!
Then to round out the season, Saturday April 18, will once again be more than a race, as we celebrate those who gave so much for each and every one of us, as we remember the ANZAC’s with the staging of the 360/LS Sprintcar Diggers Cup along with the Speedcar edition of the Diggers Cup on the same program.
