AVALON RACEWAY SEASON OPENER – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2025

Among the contenders is Blake Walsh, fresh off a strong showing at the Chariots of Thunder where he claimed multiple podium finishes and second overall in the standings. Adding an extra spark to the night, Blake will share the track — and a bit of family rivalry — with Carly Walsh and Chris Ansell also among the nominations.

Former Sprintcar driver Charles Hunter makes his return to Avalon in familiar colours, ready to launch his Wingless campaign, while last season’s aggregate winner Jake Warren will be looking to carry his successful form into the new season.

A strong South Australian contingent adds even more depth to the field, including Mitch and Ryan Broome, Matt Michelson, and Kilby Hiller.

The Speedcars are also set to thrill, with the opening round of the BL Speedcar Track Championship and the Southern Speedcar Tour both on the line. Leading the charge is current Australian Champion Kaidon Brown, who will face tough opposition from last season’s Southern Speedcar tour winner and Avalon Track Champion Caleb Mills, along with reigning VSDA Club Champion Nick Parker. The iconic Bishop name also returns to the track, with Damian Bishop piloting the S72 entry.

The next generation of racers is well represented with Zoe Peace, Dillon Ghent, Toby Smith, and Aston Rodriguez — all continuing their family legacies and ready to make an impact on opening night.

Rounding out the program, the Street Stocks — one of last season’s fan favourites — promise another entertaining display. Current Avalon Track Champion Jensen Wilson headlines the lineup alongside Mitch Clark and Troy Hose.

With a stacked card of racing and top-tier talent across every division, Avalon Raceway is set for a spectacular start to the 2025/26 season.
