INDY RAE CLEANS UP IN SPEEDWEEK ROUND
On a huge night of racing that saw 90+ cars take to the track for the PMP Chassis Speedweek, it was Indy Rae, Aston Rodriguez, and Cruz Farrell who claimed the feature victories.
The opening feature of the night saw the Junior Formula 500s put on a great show, with Cruz Farrell cruising his way into NAPA Geelong Victory Lane. Farrell held off round one feature winner Cody Malley, while Cruz Carlin continued his strong form, charging from position six to record back-to-back third-place finishes in an impressive drive.
In the Compact Speedcars, reigning champion and defending Speedweek winner Aston Rodriguez was simply unstoppable. Cutting through lap traffic like a knife through hot butter, Rodriguez guided the One Stop Construction entry to feature victory.
Caleb—now calling Warrnambool home—gave chase and finished second, while Andrew Wiles, after a dramatic start to the night, rebounded strongly to claim a well-earned third place.
The Senior Formula 500s belonged to Indy Rae, who stole the spotlight with a standout feature win aboard the Car Wash & Detailing machine. Rae fended off some of the nation’s best, with Tim Rankin—returning to racing after a thumb injury earlier this month—finishing second.
Jac Laneyrie made the trip from Minnamurra, NSW worthwhile with a well-deserved third place.
With last night’s action still fresh, attention now turns to the next big event as Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek rolls into Avalon Raceway this Tuesday, 30th December.
