STARS SHINE BRIGHT AT AVALON!
Official Press Release
Avalon Raceway was treated to a massive night of action as APCO powered the February Fuel Up Race event, showcasing the pathway from grassroots racing to elite competition, with future stars shining across every division.
The LS/360 Sprintcars headlined the evening, and it was a statement drive from former Junior Sedan standout James Oliver, who stormed from P8 to NAPA Geelong victory lane in a commanding performance.
Continuing the theme of juniors progressing through the ranks, former Junior F500 and Quarter Midgets racer Rusty Ponting has impressed in his debut sprintcar season, charging from P9 to finish second. Rounding out the podium was Chris Solomon, who rebounded from a heat race DNF to charge from P14 to finish third in a true rollercoaster night.
The JSPA rolled into town for Round 5 of their series, bringing full fields of both New Stars and Top Stars.
In the New Stars division, Jai Hallatt claimed victory under constant pressure, holding off a late charge from Charlie Fallen, who finished second after briefly taking the lead in the closing stages. Jayden Curtis completed the podium in third.
The Top Stars delivered a thrilling battle, with Brad Marshall earning a hard-fought and well-deserved feature win. Jake Bradley enjoyed an almost perfect night with three heat race victories, but ultimately settled for second in the feature, while Blake Beach fought through the pack to finish third.
The V8 Dirt Modifieds once again put on a crowd-pleasing show. Zeke Edwards was flawless throughout the feature, adding another Avalon Raceway win to his season tally. Michael Ardley continued his strong run of form with a solid second place, while Matt Reddecliffe impressed to finish third.
In the Outlaw Kart Box Stocks, Charlie Ramsay showed impressive speed all night to take the win, ahead of Leo Trancredi in second and Hudson Coates in third.
The Outlaw Kart feature saw former speedcar driver Chris Nankiville take the victory in the Dave Knight owned Kart with Luke Hickson and Damon Gill rounding out the podium.
Avalon Raceway would like to sincerely thank APCO for their continued support throughout the season, including the $500 fuel voucher bonus awarded on the night as part of the February Fuel Up event for the LS/360 Sprintcars.
We forward to welcoming fans back the Place For Pace Avalon Raceway
