Richest Easter Trail Ever for 2026

The Easter Sprintcar Trail is a time-honored part of the Australian Sprintcar Racing landscape and in 2026 it is about to become a whole lot richer!

Having first been contested in 1980, the Easter Trail has had rounds contested at the Melbourne Speedbowl, Bendigo and Portland before Avalon Raceway, Borderline Speedway, Mount Gambier and Premier Speedway at Warrnambool became the now traditional hosts of the three-night Sprintcar extravaganza.

In 2026 however, each of the three nights, will see $10,000.00 awarded to the winner of the A-Main, as a part of $33,600.00 that is on offer throughout the A-Main field, with a guaranteed $800.00 to start each A-Main on offer.

In addition to the nightly payouts, a $5,000.00 cash bonus will go the way of the overall Easter Sprintcar Trail Champion as part of a further $12,000.00 pot that will be divided amongst the top five in Easter Trail Points.

An additional tow money package is also offered.

The format for 2026 has also had a slight tweak, with qualifying, one round of heats, two dashes and C, B and A Main events all scheduled subject to car counts.

The top two points scorers after the heats, will by-pass the dashes and secure front row starting spots, ensuring qualifying and heat race results are crucial to a strong starting position.

“We understand there is competition within the marketplace at Easter every year and the three nights, whilst having tradition on its side, hadn’t had a revamp for quite some time, hence the improved prizemoney structure in 2026”, Easter Trail spokesperson David Mills said.

“We are hopeful the package is attractive to all teams, with the additional prizemoney and existing tow money package seeing a strong car count, which will in turn appeal to our race fans across all three venues”, he added.

The 2026 Easter Sprintcar Trail will also incorporate three rounds of the SRA of Victoria 2025-26 Series.

The Super Rod Easter Trail will be held in support to the Sprintcars, while the weekend will be bookended by significant fireworks displays at both Avalon Raceway and Premier Speedway, Warrnambool.

With nominations available via the SCCA Fueled portal all intending teams are asked to nominate at their earliest convenience.

The 2026 Easter Sprintcar Trail is proudly supported by Camden Signage and Building Services, Doolan’s Heavy Haulage, SE Fire Extinguisher Services, Gambier Earth Movers, Gyprock Warrnambool and the Midfield Group.
