As Friday night’s Camden Neon Signs Easter Sprintcar Trail quickly approaches, management at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway wishes to advise fans of some minor changes to start times. With almost 50 Sprintcars ready to compete for the $5,000 first prize plus Super Rods, Fireworks and a Demolition Derby there is plenty of family entertainment on the program.
3pm – Public Gates Open
3 to 4pm – Open Pit Party
5pm – Sprintcar Engine Starts & Time Trials
6pm Approx. – Racing Begins
10pm Approx. – Fireworks & Demolition Derby
Fans are invited into the pits between 3 and 4pm for the open pit party that is usually a restricted area once racing gets underway. Drivers will be available for autographs while teams will also have merchandise for sale.
The Essendon Ford Sprintcar track championship will come to a thrilling conclusion also with exciting youngster James McFadden leading in the race for the brand new Ford Fiesta courtesy of Essendon Ford.
Apart from World Series champion McFadden, US import Shane Stewart, Sprintcar legend Max Dumesny, David Murcott, six time national champ Garry Brazier, Trevor Green, Steven Lines along with Victorian champ Stephen Bell, Eureka Sprintcar Series champ Darren Mollenoyux, Jamie Veal and John Vogels to name but a few are amongst the star studded field that will compete this Good Friday.
