The Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series will finish off the first half of this season Series with a double header, round six will be at Avalon Raceway on the 26th of December boxing day, this event will also double up as the annual Gold Cup. The following night Tuesday the 27th the Series will head to the Western district area of Simpson at Simpson Speedway for round seven.

A strong field of nominations has been received for the Avalon Raceway round of the Series that will see nearly all the top twenty drivers in the Series points booked in with the exception of the new Series point’s leader David Murcott. With David’s commitments with his Queensland based Q83 Team this will open up the points race once again to see who will become the new Eureka Series point’s leader after the Avalon event.

Jye Okeeffe, Glen Sutherland, Corey McCullagh and Time Van Ginneken are all in with a chance to take the top spots and what’s more each of these drivers must head in this round of the Series as some of the favourites to win the main event.

The Current Eureka Series Champion Brett Milburn bounced back with a strong run in last week’s Series round at Premier Speedway to back right in the mix of the KTM top ten drivers.

With Series sponsors Western Nissan from Caroline Springs booked in for a corporate at the Avalon Eureka Series round the staff and guest from Western Nissan will have their eyes on young Jordyn Charge who is sponsored by the company, Jordyn is showing good form and his confidence is up after taking the Victoria 360 Sprintcar Title a few weeks ago.

Peter Doukas took out his first feature race in round three of the Series earlier in the season at Avalon and he is back looking for more Gold.

Once again both Matthew Reed and John Vogels will be two of the inform drivers that will be hard to beat at Avalon, both drivers have won many feature races over the years here.

Over thirty five drivers will be contest this round of the Eureka Series & they will looking for some of the extra money that comes with the Avalon Gold Cup before heading to Simpson Speedway the next night for round seven of the Series.

While the nomination list is a little lower for the Simpson round of the Eureka Garages & Sheds Series the excitement that is produced with the sprintcars makes up for it and is something not to be missed.

Two drivers nominated are Corey McCullagh and Tim Van Ginneken, these drivers took out the two rounds of the Series held there last season. Jye Okeeffe nearly had one of the wins and he will be out for redemption.

Brad Warren was an innocent victim at Premier Speedway last week that cost him dearly in the points race but being the country boy he is and has knowledge of the Simpson venue he could be a chance in the event.

Glen Sutherland was another driver to be casualty by no fault of his own at Premer Speedway that lost him the lead in the Series points last week, while Simpson has not been the kindest track for Glen his form this season should have running up the front once again.

Tim Hutchins is back making the trip over from Tasmania for both rounds of the Series, Tim enjoyed his first experience at the unique Simpson track last season, a top five would be rewarding for him on the night.

Simpson Speedway has many drivers from the local area that are nominated, Jacob Smith, Phil Lock, Tim Rankin and John Vogels will all have the local crowd watching and cheering them on.

Western Australian driver Scott Reilly will have his first view of Simpson at this round and will add yet another new track to his growing list on his resume.

A couple of other drivers from the local district entered are Paul O’Shannassy, Chris Rodda and lady driver Jessica Moulden, Jessica also knows her way around this track with experience in the F500’s and Speedcars.

Two big nights of racing to see out the first half of the 2016-2017 Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series will be a fitting end to 2016 and two nights of sprintcar action are not to be missed.
