CAR QUALITY SOARS FOR FORTY YEARS OF K ROCK CUP ALONGSIDE SUPER RODS AND CRASH N BASH

One of the longest running motorsport events in the country returns to Avalon Raceway this Saturday night. It’s the time honoured K Rock Cup for Super Sedans.

This event has made history over the years for so many different reasons, and this weekend will be another stamp in the history book.

Previous winner of the prestigious K Rock Jacket, Lucas Roberts in the V0 is one hot contender to make add one more K Rock to his trophy cabinet.

In fierce form this season is Mick Nicola Jnr, the current Victoria #1 and South Australia #1 holds those mantle pieces high for good reason.

Lionel West in the V71 knows what it’s like to the crowned the K Rock King, and he too could be a chance years later, come the green flags this Saturday night.

Jamie Collins drives the professional V34 outfit which has the speed and driving ability to make it his first K Rock victory in the 2022 running.

Among other Victorian entrants, Anthony Nicola, Darren Giacometti, Danny Smith, Dave McKenzie and Ben Faulkhead all fighting to keep the K Rock in its home state.

Fighting for the southern state, Paul Blenkiron will drive the S22, while Andrew White will represent New South Wales in the NSW 23.

A stout field of over 15 Super Rods will fight it out over the night in the lead up to their biggest few races of the season. The V8 powered cars with old school hatch bodies such as Ford Prefects, Fiat, Mini Cooper and more, that run the clockwise direction around the Raceway. With 350 Chevs, LS1 and LS2 power, this is a category sure to impress with their characteristic sideways entry and close fought racing.

The mighty Crash n Bash class will be back too, last season’s fan favourite event. A quality line-up of soon to be wrecked cars will slug it out over the night to be crowned the crash n bash champion and children’s favourite.
With so many different disciplines of speedway, and action from the very get go, Avalon Raceway is the place to be this Saturday Night January 8th.

Public Gates will be open from 3pm with Cars on track by 5pm to firestart a huge night of K Rock Cup crowning, Super Rods and Crash n Bash.
