EASTER EGGS ASIDE AS SPRINTCARS GATHER TO EAT UP THE CLAY THIS GOOD FRIDAY

The Easter Bunny is back this weekend, which can only mean one thing; the Sprintcar Easter Trail is back in full swing kicking off Good Friday at Avalon Raceway, before venturing to Borderline Speedway Mount Gambier and Sungold Stadium Premier Speedway Warrnambool through Saturday night and Easter Sunday.

It’s an event sure to be choc-a-block with the wildest winged warriors dawning on the Place for Pace in little Lara, Victoria Friday night.

With the rampant Super Rods playing a major role in supporting the 410ci weaponry set to unleash on the dirt banks. Super Rods sporting the chunky V8 motors, inverted wingless sprintcar chassis and old school bodies ripping around the clockwise direction of the raceway.

All the heavy hitters are back searching for that all important Easter Sprintcar Trail crown. It’s hard to look past the National Champion, Jamie Veal who has always shared great success with the venue, the SWI Engineering #A1 is a rock solid chance to take out the opening night.

Brett the Jet Milburn knows just what it takes to pass the white strip before the rest at Avalon, using years of knowledge getting the V68 around here in the fastest manner possible.

The former Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic champ, Corey Mccullagh has a fanbase that speaks for itself, undoubtedly the V90 armada supporting this team will be out in force over the Easter racing program.

The South Australian Sprintcar racing scene has always been a polarising figure, with these two boys proving just how good week in week out, those Southern staters can be. Daniel Pestka continues to dial in the S27 week after week while Big Glen Sutherland will also return the iconic black and green entry.

Who could miss the all-orange, all-Downing Brothers S97 getting jetted around by David Murcott, with a career spanning decades and a combined win list across driver and team, this is one formidable combo to keep an eye on.

Plus you’ve got to factor in the New South Welshman all hoping to fly the banner and take the number one honours home and a cool cash prize. Marcus Dumesney put together the best Grand Annual Sprintcar classic he’s had to date earlier this year, and looks to continue the score sheet in his Victorian based racing with an effort at Avalon. Fast Eddie Lumbar and the excitable Troy Little will also make the show a big one.

The field is stacked right the way through, featuring Ando, Molly, Jonesy, Lee, Timmy H, Frost, Mr Speed and Tancredi. It’ll take a venture to Avalon Raceway this Good Friday to witness just how good this Easter showdown will be.
