The widely anticipated 10K to win Sprintcar Jackpot at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway on Saturday night, November 8 carries a little bonus that hasn’t escaped the attention of drivers and teams.
Essendon Ford and David Dickson will again support sprintcar competition and Avalon Raceway in particular with another premiership series with a Ford Fiesta to the champion.
Appearance points will be on the line for the Sprintcar Jackpot, so 20 markers could make the difference at season’s end for a racer.
Combined Waste will open the season with sponsorship of the Jackpot, including a ten grand pay off to the winner.
South Australian Luke Dillon, proud Victorian Johnny Vogels and the intrepid Jamie Veal are confirmed starters.
Veal started the summer campaign in Sydney where he won the opening two feature races of the season.
The sprintcar season opener at Avalon Raceway moves into November and away from a number of conflicting events.
“Squashed in between Bathurst, the Gold Coast V8 Supercars. our Melbourne Cup carnival at Flemington and monster trucks, it was always going to be tough, so we moved our launch to November 8 avoiding congestion,” commented the Raceway’s Jeff Drew.
