It is deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Mike Raymond OAM.
Mike was one true giant’s of our sport his involvement dates back to the famed Sydney Showgrounds, before he moved to Liverpool Raceway where he oversaw one of the most successful speedway of all time, as well as being heavily involved with channel 7 and V8 Supercars.
Mikes flair brought a new level of entertainment to the masses. All the while Mike has been a true friend to Avalon Raceway and the Drew family, he was the voice of Avalon Raceway add for 40 years where his “Be There” is legendary. Any success that Avalon Raceway has had through marketing can be traced back to Mike. His passing will leave a huge hole in our sport, our thoughts are with Carol, Andy and his family and Lyndal and Bill Roberts and there family.
