Victorian 410 sprintcar champ Darren Mollenoyux believes he has renewed enthusiasm for a big season of competition.
Driving the Parr Motorsport GF1, Mollenoyux already has a runner up main event placing at Murray Bridge in SA this summer, but the rich $10.000 to win Jackpot at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway on November 8 has his immediate attention.
The Jackpot is unique in that the field for the final is set an even dozen cars and over 10 laps which means it does not afford any time for even one mistake.
Mollenoyux is a tough boy to beat around the Avalon oval that is being groomed specially for the Jackpot.
“We want the surface to be bump free and tacky which means every driver in the final will have an even chance of success,” said Raceway spokesman Jeff Drew today.
The field is the strongest in the history of the prestigious Jackpot and qualifying will determine
the final 12 starting positions in the final.
Steven Lines, Jamie Veal, Robbie Farr, James McFadden, Luke Dillon, Johnny Vogels and Molly are expected to lay strong claims.
