This Saturday night Avalon Raceway hosts the 50th running of the Routleys – Fireball Derby, doubling as round 1 of the SRA -Eureka Garages and Sheds series. What a night it will be with 42 Sprintcars and 10 Super Sedans nominated, including a cast of the seriously fast. The big field is due in no small part to the Avalon Raceway Track Championship payout of $20,000. Who could forget the look on Cory McCallagh ‘s face last year when he was presented the cheque by Jeff and Rod Drew at the presentation night. Ad to this the bounty on offer as part of the SRA series and you realise the big winners will be speedway fans as they watch their racetrack hero’s compete all season long. Gates open at 4pm, straight into the free pit walk until 5pm. Engine starts from 6, racing from 7pm.
Adults $25, 12-16 $10, under 12 are FREE.
