SHARP CRANES SEASON OPENING SPECTACULAR FOR BOXING DAY

Avalon Raceway, proudly partnered with Sharp Cranes will launch into another full season dawning this Sunday December 26th.

After yet again another tumultuous season in lurch just gone, this year will be different. The affectionately known Place for Pace in Lara is back, with a vengeance.

The fan favourite 410ci things with wings are locked in with a huge list to envy all. The Eureka Sprintcar Series will host its second round of the championship and Sharp Cranes Gold Cup will be on the line.

Drivers from all corners of the country, and racing disciplines have signalled their interest in the Boxing Day line-up.

The V60 car of Jordyn Charge has always made himself a force to be reckoned with around the Lara dirt, the Incharge racing team carry huge momentum heading out of Max’s race at Warrnambool.

Track Champion Brett Milburn who has always been a driver to put on edge of your seat racing, is locked in for his shot at Gold Cup Glory.

South Australian Daniel Pestka has been in career best form since stamping more Victorian races under his belt this season and he too will be a firecracker to watch in the S27.

The Tickford Racing V8 Supercar pilot Cam Waters will make his return to Avalon Raceway driving the Chief Racing V6. Waters has been remarkable in time trials over his short Sprintcar Career, with a fast car, the V6 is not one to sit aside.

Between the likes of Darren Mollenoyux, Corey McCullagh, Charles Hunter, Grant Anderson and so many more Goliath competitors, the Sharp Cranes Gold Cup will be mammoth.

The nation’s best Modified Sedans are in attendance also for the Christmas Cup. With big numbers of Fast Modifieds in the localities of Avalon, many have made turnouts to the practice days and put some laps in the leadup to Boxing Day.

Brad Wicks will make his season launch aboard the Bendigo based #14 while his brother Michael takes side stage.

Todd Atkins is one of the fastest rising stars to come up in the Modified Sedan ranks, with a feature race win set on his mind, you can just bet that HA36 Falcon will be a bullet.

Jarod Waters will too make the trip alongside Cam, with his Mercedes Modified Mildura #92, after no one could catch him around his local Timmis Speedway in its first hitout of the season.

A whole host of Modified Sedan pilots will be fighting for that elusive Modified Christmas Cup, look for drivers like Brody Chrystie, Matt Gerlach, Lachlan Fitzpatrick and many more fierce competitors with eyes for only the top podium step.

Gates will be open from 3pm on Sunday with Cars on track by 5pm. Double Vax certificates a must with tickets able to be purchased online at www.avalonraceway.com.au
