Avalon Raceway’s famous swap meet for the first time in 41 years will be cancelled. It’s extremely disappointing commented Avalon’s Rod Drew since it’s inception in 1979 we have held the event in rain, wind and every type of weather in between even gum boots where a necessary item but still it went on. But the advent of Corona-virus or COVID 19 has lead us to cancel the event for 2020
With so many interstate visitors coming every year, it will be just to hard for them and as the Melbourne area looks set to stay in lock down, Jeff and I have decided to cancel this years event.
It’s a blow for all involved from the hall of fame who host the early breakfast session to those looking for a bargain or to try and clean out the shed, or just to have a catch up and do some bench racing.
But rest assure once were over this pandemic and things are back to normal the 2021 swap meet on August 22nd will be a goer.
