Jamie Veal totally dominated the Sprintcar Jackpot and $10.000 before a packed house of race fans as the Avalon Raceway launched the 2014-15 summer season tonight.
The intentions of Jamie were glaringly obvious when he came from the back of a 25 lap qualifying heat.
In fact he looked in a class of his own all night on the juicy racing surface.
The young driver from Warrnambool then topped the one lap time trial fleet ahead of David Murcott and Shaun Dobson whjich gave him the choice of inside or outside the front row.
He chose the outside and when the green flew so did Jamie from national champ Murcott and Tasmanian Shaun Dobson.
Steven Lines was next, one position clear of Adelaide’s Daniel Pestka and Robbie Farr who wrestled the ECP car to sixth after looking good in his qualifier.
Milburn, Lacey. Mollenoyux and Vogels rounded out the ten while Tim Van Ginniken and Dennis Jones were eliminated from the Jackpot after timing 11th and 12th.
The form of Veal has been outstanding this summer with three feature race wins in Sydney, the opening round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds SRA series last weekend at Moama and now the Combined Waste Jackpot at Avalon tonight.
That’s five from five, a perfect record, but the ten grand pay off at tonight’s Jackpot is the richest and most bank pleasing result.
