Sprintcars
The premier class at Avalon Raceway. 410 cubic inch open-wheel rockets producing over 900hp, racing on the clay oval at breathtaking speeds. Wing-mounted, purpose-built machines that test the limits of driver skill.
Wingless Sprints
All the aggression of a Sprintcar without the wing. Lower downforce means more sliding, more skill, and incredibly close racing from start to finish. A fiercely competitive class with a massive grassroots following.
Super Rods
Supercharged, highly modified machines built for maximum power and spectacular sideways action on the clay. Super Rods are a crowd favourite for their visual aggression and close racing.
Street Stocks
Entry-level oval racing on a budget. Street-registered cars transformed into competitive race machines — the accessible heartbeat of grassroots speedway at Avalon.
Modified Sedans
Heavily modified production sedans with significantly altered bodywork and drivetrain. Modified Sedans bridge the gap between street stocks and the premier classes.
Super Sedans
High-powered, purpose-modified sedans producing massive grunt. Spectacular door-to-door action and aggressive driving styles make Super Sedans one of the most entertaining classes on the program.
V8 Dirt Modifieds
Big-block V8 power in open-wheel dirt modified bodies. These purpose-built machines are raw, loud, and fast — a throwback to classic American dirt track racing.
AMCAs
Australian Midget Car Association competitors bring fast, wheel-to-wheel action to the Avalon oval. AMCAs are an entry point to open-wheel oval racing for many up-and-coming drivers.
Speedcars
Similar in concept to Sprintcars but run on a sealed engine formula. Speedcars produce extremely competitive racing and are a pathway class for aspiring Sprintcar pilots.
Formula 500s
Lightweight open-wheel single-seaters powered by motorcycle engines. Incredibly quick through the corners and a proven pathway for tomorrow's Sprintcar stars.
Company Speedcars
A corporately-sponsored speedcar formula bringing additional variety to the program. Great racing at competitive entry costs makes Company Speedcars a welcome addition to any event.
Junior Sedans
Junior Sedans give young drivers aged 8–16 their first taste of competitive oval racing in a safe, closely governed format. The pathway class that's produced some of Australia's finest drivers.
GP Midgets
Classic open-wheel midget cars harking back to the golden era of Australian speedway. GP Midgets deliver close, technical racing that highlights driver skill above raw horsepower.
Crash 'n' Bash
The crowd's favourite spectacle event. Competitors go door to door, bumper to bumper in a last-car-running contest that guarantees maximum entertainment and carnage every time.
