Welcome to the opening round of the 2026/27 season at Avalon Raceway!
This season, Avalon Raceway celebrates 50 years at Avalon — 1976–2026, and what better way to kick off the milestone season than with The Shakedown this Saturday night at the Place For Pace.
We set about creating something different for the fans & drivers to kick off the year so thanks to Pete & the team at Salt Electrical will race 50 laps with the winner to take home $1,000
Almost 40 drivers have entered, including recent Avalon Track Champion and three-time NT Champion Blake Walsh.
But Walsh will have his work cut out for him, with Chris Temby, Travis Millar and Blaine Densley all enjoying standout seasons at Avalon last year.
The Speedcars will kick off their Southern Speedcar Tour on Saturday night, with last season’s Avalon Track Champion Aston Rodriguez going head-to-head with a star-studded field.
Among them is three-time National Champion Kaidon Brown in the A1 machine.
Nick Parker, Caleb Mills and Justin McMinn will also be ones to watch, with all three finishing inside the top five of last season’s Track Championship.
A field of 15 Street Stocks have entered, including last season’s Track Champion Mick Clark in the all-white machine.
Mitch Viney and Troy Hose will also be looking to start the new season strongly after finishing on the podium in last season’s Track Championship.
